Thanks for the video, good information. I had a question; if someone is looking for the owner of a property and it is owned by a trust, couldn’t they do a public records search for any liens? If so would that lien information identify the beneficiary?
Thanks
Jaz
Jaz1068, good question. If you moved a property (that is in your name) into the trust, and the lien still lists your name, then people will assume that you are the beneficiary – that may not be the case since you could have sold the beneficial interest. They can’t be sure until they do more work.
When you are acquiring a new property into a trust and are taking a loan at the same time, then you can request that the lender list the trust on the lien
Never record the trust document!
